Lafreniere's company]. At his third child's baptism in 1744, he was "sergent dans les troupes, en garnison au Fort St-Frederic" [sergeant in the troops, in the garrison at Fort St-Frederic]. At his fifth child's baptism in 1749 he was "sergent des troupes du détachement de la marine" [sergeant of the troops of the navy detachment].109 |
