Obituary, Kingston Whig-Standard, Sep 27, 1991:
"Evelyn Grace (Wemp) Taylor, a lifelong resident of the Kingston area, died on Sept. 5, 1991 at The Village Green, Selby, after a two-year illness. She was in her 83rd year.
"Mrs. Taylor was born in Conway, Ont, a daughter of Herb and Anita Bulch. She attended Bath Public School. She lived for a time on Amherst Island and attended St. Alban's Church in Stella, and, while living in Napanee, the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. She belonged to the Anglican Church Women. Mrs. Taylor farmed and worked as a nurse's aide, and was especially interested in gardening and travelling.
"She is survived by her children, Leigh Wemp and wife Doris of Odessa, Brenda Hatton and husband of Napanee, Grant Wemp and wife Gail of Shelbourne, and Duane Wemp and wife Linda of Toronto. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Herbert, Valerie, Lance, Alan, Derek, Barent, Lisa and Jamie Lyn, and sisters Marjorie Storring and Pearl Paul. She was predeceased by her parents, husbands Albert Taylor and William Wemp, and daughter Shirley.
"The funeral was conducted on Sept. 7 by Rev. Ken Blaber. The pallbearers were grandsons Herbert, Derek and Barent Wemp, Bob Rochefort and Lance and Allen Hatton. The flower bearers were her granddaughters Valerie Wemp-Rochefort and Lisa and Jamie Lyn Wemp. Interment was at Glenwood cemetery, Amherst Island."187 |
