"Marshall McKague was born at Sprucedale, Ontario in 1890, coming west to the McTaggart district at the age of nine years. He attended Actonvale School for several years. "Marshall farmed two quarter sections of land four miles north of Ralph, for many years, then moved to a farm about one and a half miles north of McTaggart, in the mid twenties. This he operated until his retirement in 1962. He was well known for his violin music and played for many of the schoolhouse dances and house parties. In 1949 he won the Old Time Fiddlers contest. Marshall was married later in life to Eva McKee. He and his wife spent many winters holidaying in Weslaco Texas. "He passed away suddenly in November, 1967."339 Marshall may have lived in McTaggart SK.10 "Even though I was not biologically related to Marshall, he is what I considered my grandfather. I have many memories of going to their farm in southern Sask. for the summers."340
