Caroline would walk to Cobourg with butter and eggs to sell, and stay overnight with relatives before returning home. She tended an immense garden in summer and was always knitting in winter. Wool from the sheep on the farm was cleaned, carded and made into roves in Baltimore ON. She had a spinning wheel in the room above the kitchen, where she made yarn. She was deaf in later years. She tried various hearing devices but none of them worked.38 Text of funeral card: "Entered into rest. In Cramahe on Sunday, June 14th, 1925. Caroline Eagleson / widow of the late Robert McKague / in her 79th year / The Funeral will leave her late residence, on Tuesday, June 16th, 1925 at 2.00 p.m, for Cramahe Baptist Church where service will be held / Interment at Castleon [sic] cemetery / Friends will kindly accept this intimation."72
