Research Notes |
NAME: His last name is also given as DAYMENT.44
MARRIAGE: His marriage to Elizabeth is confirmed with no date or place given.41
GENERAL: This is NOT the John and his family who were passengers on the ship Cosmopolite, which sailed from Plymouth, Devon in April 1835, and arrived in New York on May 13, 1935. The family are listed as "John DIAMOND 33 Labourer, Elizabeth DIAMOND 30 Wife, Elizabeth DIAMOND 9, John DIAMOND 7, Sarah DIAMOND 5, Mary Ann DIAMOND 4, Nathaniel DIAMOND 2, Peter DIAMOND 1".45 However, it is clear that in spite of the coincidences, this is a different DIAMOND family from Bradworthy, Devon, and that the wife's maiden name was JONES.46 |
